Seoul-lid Trip Day 1.1: Arrival in South Korea

August 14, 2014
9:00AMKST (haha, kumi-kst talaga)

Touchdown Incheon, South Korea(SK)! Still can't believe that we're at SK already. Every footstep feels unreal (I'm not kidding!) The airport that I only used to see in the news and k-dramas, I'm finally here! haha!

*This was the 1st photo I took during the trip haha!*
*On my back is Gian, then on my right is Kristen, front is Vlad and you already know Lyka. kkk*
*Airport Fashion. Hahaha!*

The airport was huge, it probably took us more than hour 'til we get to the train station that will take us to Hongdae. There are three types of public transportation that will take you to downtown Seoul (or any area you want) from the airport.

- EXPENSIVE: Taxi: it may cost more or less than 100,000₩ (Php 4,027) , depending on where you are heading to) Plus, the passenger is also responsible of the to pay for the toll fees.

- AVERAGE: Bus: it usually costs 10,000₩ (Php 403). It is already affordable and acceptable, but if there is a cheaper way to travel of course we will choose that option. hahaha
- CHEAP: Train: normal fare from Incheon to Hongdae Station is 3,850₩ (Php 155.04) This is the cheapest and fastest way and we are definitely going for this one. We still have 10+ days and we need to stretch our pocket money! hahaha!

After the immigration and luggage pick-up, we bought the T-money (you'll use this when riding their trains) at a convenience store in the arrival area (I forgot if it's GS25 or 7-11). The T-money looks like this, and only costs 3,000₩ (Php 120):

*you can even have the face of your oppa/eonnie in the T-money but I think its more expensive than the regular one.*
We were circling around the airport looking for the train station and a good money changer (better to change a few dollars only because exchange rates at any airport is really low).

Remember that there are two types of station: Express Train and All Stop Train. If you are heading to Hongdae like us, choose the All Stop Train.

Here's a more detailed article about the trains in Incheon Airport: VisitKorea.

Travel time takes less than an hour from Incheon to Hongdae :)

I forgot to take photos during the ride, but it was really beautiful, calmly beautiful... I wish my country would also have an airport like this. hahaha! Woosh!
